Reflections of Peace is a quiet study of water, light, and renewal, centred around white lotus blossoms rising above a layered pond of deep greens and soft blue-grey reflections. The pale flowers provide a gentle contrast to the darker, textured background, while the broad lily pads create a rhythm across the surface of the water. Rather than aiming for a perfectly still or photographic representation, the painting keeps the brushwork visible, allowing the movement and texture of the water, leaves, and surrounding atmosphere to remain part of the work. The composition is intended to feel contemplative — a small, enclosed moment of calm where nature seems to slow down.

Behind Reflections of Peace.

This piece grew from an interest in the quiet resilience of the lotus — a flower that emerges from still, shadowed water yet opens into something remarkably light and delicate. The painting was approached slowly, building the darker greens and reflections first and allowing the flowers to gradually become the points of light within the composition. The lily pads and stems were kept loose and organic rather than overly defined, giving the pond a sense of movement beneath the stillness. In the end, the painting became less about depicting a particular pond and more about capturing that feeling of pausing beside water and noticing how much life exists within a seemingly quiet space.

Deepak says : While the water mirrors the world, I believe the lotus reflects the soul.
